Alexandra von Schroeter is a seasoned Portfolio Manager at Cumberland Investment Counsel Inc. (“CIC“). She also leads its affiliate Cumberland Private Wealth Management Inc.’s (together with CIC “Cumberland Private Wealth”) in the areas of strategic business and client portfolio management, and is an Executive Committee Member of the firm’s  parent Cumberland Partners Limited (“CPL”).  Ms. von Schroeter is an experienced executive and strategic business leader with a demonstrated 30+ year track record in the investment management and banking industries. In addition to these roles, since 1999 when she joined Cumberland Private Wealth, Ms. von Schroeter has been working closely with selected executives, entrepreneurs, their families and corporations/ foundations managing their investments and offering advice and solutions that draw upon her long experience in investing and the global capital markets. Special areas of focus span portfolio diversification, strategic and tactical asset allocation across asset classes, new alternative investments, risk management and hedging, among key areas of wealth management. Prior to Cumberland Private Wealth, Ms. von Schroeter spent 12 years at CIBC World Markets and Wood Gundy Inc. in Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions and in the Capital Markets areas in Toronto, London UK and New York, and in commercial banking at Bank of Montreal.

Ms. von Schroeter is a shareholder of CPL, and is currently a member of INSEAD’s Capital Campaign Board and a director of its Canadian Foundation, a member of the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Curators’ Circle Executive Committee, International Women’s Forum and an activator of SheEO. She served on the INSEAD Alumni Fund’s global board for 15 years, as a graduate of the International Director’s Program (governance and director proficiencies – IDP-C – 2016) and the Business School (MBA – 1987); and Queen’s University (B.Com.). She has a CFA designation, among other industry credentials, and a diploma in French Literature from Universite de Paris-Sorbonne.
