Christie Matwee is a Portfolio Manager with Cumberland Investment Counsel Inc. and Cumberland Private Wealth Management Inc. (together “Cumberland Private Wealth”). With over 20 years of experience in wealth management, investment banking, and both public and private financial markets, she provides proactive, personalized wealth planning and discretionary portfolio managment to families and their related corporations, trusts, and philanthropic entities, as well as select associations and other not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to Cumberland Private Wealth, Ms. Matwee was Vice President, Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley in New York City where she provided advice on mergers, acquisitions and financing to healthcare companies.
Prior to that, she worked in Venture Capital and Private Equity at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan investing alongside top tier venture capital and private equity funds in the U.S., Canada and abroad. She has also worked in Equity Research at Merrill Lynch Canada.

In addition, Ms. Matwee has served on the boards of various registered charities, most recently having served two three-year terms on the board of Tapestry Opera, Canada’s largest and most influential contemporary opera company, including her role as Board Vice-Chair.
